Dear Tom,
Thanks again for all your help last month installing WhoPaste & FoneConnector (plug-in for Daylite), and integrating the latter with Skype.
WhoPaste is surely the most rewarding $19.95 I ever spent on software. Instead of the tedious manual transfer of contact information from on-line, potential client data bases, I can just select the desired information and right click to immediately create a new Organization (or Contact) file in Daylite; fields are filled in automatically and accurately – no more typos! The speed and efficiency of this process really streamlines the gathering of data into Daylite for sales calls.
Similarly the process of making those calls is much much easier with the help of FoneConnector & Skype, as described below.
I don’t know how many other people find Daylite’s default phone # font a bit small, but I think the programmers are probably under 35. Since I’m pushing 60 and dealing with bifocals, I really, REALLY appreciate not having to read Daylite contact phone numbers anymore, thanks to FoneConnector. I just double click on the phone # or right click on the organization name while selecting “dial primary phone#” from the pop up menu. Skype kicks in at that point to make the connection. Again no more typos/wrong numbers.
The cost of purchasing an “incoming” Skype” phone # with service for one year was only $33! I haven’t used the video potential of Skype so far, but will undoubtedly find that useful in situations with similarly equipped clients.
I also appreciate the added convenience of the bluetooth earpiece (Plantronics) you recommended. I’m told it sounds like I’m on the land line, so the “presence” is good!
Another amazing aspect of the Daylite/FoneConnector/Skype setup is how it facilities the integration of INCOMING calls with Daylite. An incoming call from a Daylite contact triggers not only Caller I.D, but the opportunity to immediately link a note, task, etc. to that contact in Daylite. I think I’m just beginning to unpack the potential of this feature, but see it as yet another efficiency enhancing time-saver.
I also want to thank you for your recent blog post re using Quick Find more effectively in Daylite by setting up Hot Keys in order to quickly access an organization or contact even when you’re working in another application. I know I’m repeating myself, but it’s another very cool time saver.
I am very thankful to MarketCircle for putting me in touch with you. Your rare, non-condescending attitude of teaching & serving your clients comes through in many ways. It seems evident that you are motivated by a desire to empower your clients and that means a lot.
Sincerely,
Henry Wiens / Owner
